We had to sit on our hands for a couple of minutes after we read The Ex's tour update for December. It said something like this: "In December 2006 hopefully another USA tour...Details to follow soonish." It's been over two years since our favorite Dutch band did an honest-to-goodness US tour and, what can we say? We got a little bit excited. No amount of levity can fool us. The Ex on tour is a highlight, an asterisk, a string around the finger, a reason to fill your car with a few of the most well-suited veterans to murky, smoke-filled rock clubs that you know and start driving. You have nine dates to choose from. Attending numerous shows is encouraged.
The four-piece will commence their tour on Thursday, December 7 at the Triple Rock Social Club in Minneapolis accompanied by guitarist Andy Moor's recent collaborator, DJ Rupture. Aloha will catch up with them at their second show in Chicago and tag along for the majority of the remaining dates.
In related news, Moor will have just finished a stint with the American Repertory Theatre in Cambridge, Massachusettes directing music and sound for their stage adaptation of the Wim Wenders film, "Wings of Desire."
