Mekons and Jon Langford performances

Chicagoan Mark Guarino has written a play based on the music and paintings of the multi-talented Mekon Jon Langford. Completed last summer, the play, "All the Fame of Lofty Deeds," will receive its first reading Monday, March 24 at the Victory Garden theater here in Chicago. (victorygardens.org) This show is free, and Jon is providing the score.
There will be a second "workshop performance" of the play Sunday, April 27 with a full band and cast, and after that, the play will hopefully move on to a longer run at another theater.

Meanwhile, though, the Mekons are starting a short stint of US dates next Tuesday here in Chicago, continuing on through the midwest. Dates below!
