Joey Burns tour blog/Calexico news 6-08-09

Before the excitement of summer takes everyone over, there are a few important things to note from the inner circles of Calexico camp. Recently, a bunch of US and European tour dates were announced and all details can be found here. Notables include dates with Andrew Bird, which should include some noteworthy on-stage collaborations; a Minneapolis, MN date with The Decemberists; and a handful of summer festivals overseas. Following a recent stretch of dates touring with Neko Case, Joey Burns had this to say:

Grey skies today and it's Friday. Feels good to be back home and reflect on an amazing tour opening for Neko Case as a two piece band. I loved the whole experience; hanging with our good friends, seeing some family along the way and taking the songs and turning them inside out expanding on the form thru improvisation. Felt really good. Now we prepare for some dates with Andrew Bird and a show with The Decemberists in Minneapolis. East coast here we come.” http://rozarii.info/bigroza.html
