The Mekons Need Your Help

For almost 3 years, filmmaker Joe Angio has been shooting a documentary about the Mekons, which is appropriately titled Revenge Of The Mekons. Having shot in more than 20 cities in 6 countries on 3 continents, from New Orleans and St. Paul to Wales and Tajikistan, the time for editing the 150+ house of footage has arrived.
With a goal of premiering at a major film festival in 2011, Joe has started a fund raising campaign via Kickstarter.com, an online initiative that lets supporters, fans, and other interested by standers participate in the making of a project. To sweeten the pot for those wishing to contribute, many talented people who appear in or are involved with the film have generously donated some amazing and unique rewards including author Jonathan Franzen, artist Vito Acconci, authors Greil Marcus and Luc Sante, and Mekons themselves Jon Langford and Rico Bell.
