Calexico goes into SPACE!

Alright, this is some of the trippiest news we've posted in awhile, so get psyched.

On May 31st, the Space Shuttle Discovery took off toward the International Space station, carrying Commander Mark Kelly on his third flight into space. During shuttle flights, friends and family of astronauts are allowed to choose the music that is played to wake up the pilots from sleep in space. His wife, Gabrielle Giffords, a U.S. representative from Arizona's 8th Congressional District, has chosen songs to wake the crew on two days. One day will be the bugle call Kelly used to wake up to when he went to college at the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, and the other - CALEXICO! Their song, "Crystal Frontier," will be beamed into space, and waking up the astronauts! Come on - it's pretty exciting. Read more about this story right here.

Our thoughts are with Kelly, Giffords, and all the rest of the astronauts and families for a safe mission and trip home - and thanks for the solar system shout out!
