Ted Leo & the Pharmacists Chunklet 7", tour info, and more

-A couple weeks ago we broke the news of Rapid Response, the politically-charged EP from Ted Leo & the Pharmacists. The 4-song digital release, available now at the Touch & Go/Quarterstick webstore, was a sobering reaction to the police action surrounding protests at the recent Republican National Convention in St. Paul, MN, with all proceeds to benefit Democracy Now and Minneapolis Food Not Bombs. The support shown to Ted Leo/Rx has been overwhelming positive (you can read a great interview on Huffington Post right here) and we are very proud of the band for their bold stance and quick delivery.

And now for something completely different…

-For as serious and topical as Ted Leo & The Pharmacists can be in their music, the air of positivity and light-heartedness is always just as closely at hand. In the current issue of Chunklet Magazine (Issue #20), the band is featured on the B-side of a seven-inch single (with an A-side consisting of a Zach Galifianakis, AD Miles, Jon Brion, and Fiona Apple collaboration on an "ultra-danceable" track called "Up In Them Guts"…wtf?! AWESOME!) with the tune “Rock ‘n’ Roll Dreams’ll Come Through.” This recording is a newer version of the song that Ted performed live while appearing on The Best Show on WFMU. The exclusive single is only available with the purchase of the magazine at Chunklet.com. Get yours here.

-In touring news, today the band begins a month-long U.S. tour, splitting dates with heavy hitters Against Me! and Titus Andronicus. Date/venue specifics can be found on the Touch & Go/Quarterstick tour dates page. Check out those shows!

-And finally, a month after these October/early November dates Ted will step away from the full band to play four solo dates on/near the East Coast.
